Hi everyone! My name is Lauren Lamb and I am a proud Double Deac! I graduated in May of 2022 with a degree in Economics from Wake and then joined the class of 2023 Master of Science in Management that July. I graduated from the MSM program in May of 2023 and loved all 10 months of my program. My top 5 pieces of advice are listed below (in no specific order):
- Take time for yourself- School can be challenging, especially at Wake Forest. Faculty and staff expect the highest level of work for students at a school of Wake’s caliber. It is important to take time to do things you enjoy doing to get your mind off of things. My friends and I would grab coffee, go to the gym, or go on walks through Reynolda Village.
- Utilize the MRE team!- The MRE team and career coaches are such a valuable asset to your time spent at the Wake Forest University School of Business. They are your biggest cheerleaders, and will go the extra mile to help you achieve your goals!
- Treat People With Kindness- Not just an iconic song by Harry Styles, but truly a way to live life. You never know what kind of day someone has had, so holding the door for someone or smiling at them when walking in the hall can make a difference in their day, and make you feel good too!
- Be Confident- Everyone will have that one class that gives them the most trouble, but be confident in yourself and all the hard work you put in every single day. Remember- you were admitted to Wake Forest for a reason.
- Go to class, study, and work hard- It is called Work Forest for a reason. School will be hard! However make sure to remind yourself why you came here, and how it will impact your future self for the better. Think of all the opportunities that will come your way because you are a Wake Forest University School of Business student.
I wish you the best and hope you enjoy every second at Wake. I know I sure did.
Go Deacs!
