This Licensed Practical Nurse position provide routine care and treatment of patients, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, within a state correctional facility. It also will be providing direct nursing care to patients, within the scope of practice.
Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following duties:
- Demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing and skills attendant to its practice
- Screening, observing and assessing patients
- Providing basic wound care and personal care to patients
- Delivering routine respiratory therapy and other treatments, catheter and colostomy care, collecting vital signs and specimens, preparing and administering medications, administering/interpreting TB skin tests
- Observing and recording pertinent patient information
- Responding to emergencies
- Assisting the Registered Nurse and Physician
**This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
Note: Must be licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in North Carolina or in participating Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. If possessing a single state LPN license from a state other than North Carolina, MUST apply and receive at a minimum a “Temporary License” to practice in NC prior to hire date.
