As a student coming from another country, I didn’t really understand the dynamics of job searching in the US. Because of this, I started my process late and didn’t really understand the importance of internships. I started applying for full-time positions in finance during my senior year. The career coaching team helped a lot in building my resume and interview skills. I also came across the opportunity to do my MSA which greatly intrigued me. With my previous experience in recruiting and with the help of the help of the MRE team, I was ready and better able to take advantage of opportunities and resources.

My advice to current students is not to wait. Experience is one of the major things companies look for. Most companies’ main pipeline to get full-time employees is through their internships. If you have good experience by the start of junior year that will put you in a position to apply for an internship summer junior-senior year for the place you would like to be full-time.
