Having attended Wake’s Entrepreneurship Institute Summer Program during high school, I came to Wake Forest with a broad interest in business but no clear direction. Since coming to Wake and pursuing a finance major, I’ve immersed myself in experiences that has helped shape my path from joining the Dow Jones Club to launching a financial blog that explores market trends of interest. Along the way, I interned with a startup marketing agency in Spain and an insurance broker in New York before having an experience at Lock 8 Partners, a private equity firm. There, I worked on software investment opportunities through early due diligence analysis that confirmed my passion for private equity. Wake’s Market Readiness & Employment (MRE) office played a critical role in this journey. I worked closely with Coach Spradley for resume and interview prep, and Coach Rotyliano helped me connect with alumni who provided valuable insight and mentorship throughout the recruiting process. This support helped me secure my Summer 2025 internship with Resurgens Technology Partners.
If I could offer advice to other students, it would be to explore broadly and ask questions often. Try out different experiences early, even if they seem unrelated, because each one will teach you something about what you want and don’t want in your career. Be curious, and ask your professors, peers, alumni, or anyone you meet, about their paths and perspectives. Some of the most meaningful opportunities I’ve had came from simple conversations that turned into unexpected doors opening.
